Passage
Dawn hurls a new day in rites of passage;
Awake to new rays with obvious message.
See that ageing face unsmiling serious;
Time sculpts change in place with contours curious.
Sometimes I can see my father staring;
Knowing that truly kindred ties winding.
A sudden grin frames the wrinkles here;
A smile works the same to mirror fond cheer.
So swift the years breezed in a life sanguine;
Lots of laughter squeezed from sojourns between.
The mirror speaks well of change that finds zest;
Subconscious mind dwells on the journey quest.
Feelings find fond surge when noisy thoughts rest;
I feel time converge in joy's healing fest.
Now the mirror speaks as images dash;
Watch how time can peak as moments now flash.
Sleepy, drowsy me now awakening;
What else can I see in this becoming?
