Ann Gilmour Poet Acrostic

Parkinson's

Perhaps the tremor was a clue, but still my Doctor did not know
A year before I got to hear that hateful word that scared me so
Reality finally kicking in ~ downhill my mind was spiralling 
Kindness and empathy from my Parkinson’s nurse
Instilling calm within me with her actions and her words
Not one day passes when thoughts of P don't come into my mind
So when they do I pass them through ~ no permission to stay behind
Only then can I live my life ~ for Parkinson’s will not define me
Now five years on since P crept in ~ stealing 75% of my dopamine
Since then I discovered PS and friends to liberate my muse and banish P blues

As you say, there is a reason for everything. Of course we all have our down days, but generally they are so debilitating, that positive thinking is the only way. Robert L. Hinshaw July 25, 2019 at 2:57 PM Dear Ann: I'm so sorry to learn that you have contracted Parkinsons. My dear wife Vera had that for about 5 years before she passed in Jul 18 at age 83. Sounds like you are taking Seniment pills which Vera took and it controlled P to a certain extent. I have no choice really and most of the time, with 8 tabs a day, symptoms are controlled fairly well, but this heat has played havoc with the tremor!
