Parent's Love

Did I forget my parents in my youthful days?
when I came to overseas for higher studies,
Often, I would see them very lonely in dreams.

In those lonely days, monthly letters brought a smile.

Often, I wondered how my parents must have felt,
To lose a son far away pursuing his dreams,
Those letters were read repeatedly on both sides.

I will save some money for the return visit.

Ever wondered how hard it feels,
when you don't see them for long time,
You miss their affection and love.

Alas they have departed; I miss them so much.

It's always the ones left behind, and even with technology it's always fleeting. Letters, on the other hand, are palpable and show the effort put into it.

I know that distant feeling all too well Jay. My family live over 7000 miles away. The internet helps, but its not the same... Loved your poem. I miss my parents too. Beautifully written.
