Parched Love
The babies are having fits
The dogs are going nuts
Where can I run?
How do I hide?
Never a quiet moment
With no end in sight,
I cry out for mercy,
Desperate for a break.
Raising kids all by myself
As mother, cook, and maid,
Hiding is no option
For now I must stay.
A husband with no help,
And nothing nice to give,
Avoidance is his key
To keeping his time HIS.
All alone on my last nerves
And no shoulder of help
I sink to the ground
And pray for God’s grace.
The babies are now asleep
But what can I do,
I’m alone in this house
Because he’s “too busy for you”.
Emotions are running high
But he’s no where to be found
Because my love wasn’t strong enough
For him to leave it all behind.
