Parasites Are We
Parasites are they
Alive only by the skin of someone's magic
A weird trick that keeps their memories
Solidly out of comfortable reach
Forcing them to keep their counsel
As one when we they listen to each other
Which is not often
Ice King and Marceline
Barely hanging on, surviving only because
Of their determination to feel themselves again.
United in their despondency
Losing themselves
Through their unique symbiotic relationship
Fighting through the wreckage of a world
Riding the crown of their own truths
Neither of them truly
royalty
Parasites actually
