Parallel to you
I live in a parallel world to you
Sure we share the same news
The same nature
The same cities
The same earth.
Many experiences I have you have too
Driving a car for the first time
Going to school
Going on a hike
talking with a friend.
But the big difference
Is that I believe
That criminals have a way
to hit anyone they like
from meters away
They can reach you
with drugs as vapor
Or as powders
Through your skin
Or at your face.
I believe these drugs use the latest science
And that the people who make them
Know as much biology
and pharmacology
as anyone.
And that when this becomes true
Victims get sick
Who would normally not get sick
And minds stray
off the straight path
You can be sprayed
from a car
from a pedestrian
from a drone
You may know, you may never know.
And once this all is true
There is a parallel world
A bad one
Not ruled by acts of God
But acts of men.
Now we've always known
of underworlds
criminal ones
spying ones
ideological ones.
But we might feel
safe in let's say
a farm in Dakota
or minding our own business
not standing out.
I say "no".
You are not safe
Your home is not your castle.
And you are
At their nonexistent
mercy.
