Parakeet

When I was in third grade, I came to your aid. A sick teacher's dad, made his parakeet so very sad. My teacher asked, would I take the parakeet fast. I needed to ask my mom, sure hope she will not go off like a bomb. My parents may put me in a handcuff, because I could not say yes fast enough. When her dad had cancer and was dying. His bird "Pretty Boy" had to go. She asked me and I took it. I do not know how long a parakeet should live. It was a number of years old when I got him. About a year later it had a heart attack. That is what the vet said. We were told to put whiskey in warm milk and feed with an eye dropper. We did and he lived 14 years.

Thank You, for your note and your congratulations. This bird had so much personality. He would sit on the top edge of my dad's coffee cup and drink coffee. Crazy but true. Blessings going your way............

Back with congrats on your placement in the contest, Paula! This one is 'not for the birds' in the mocking, jocular sense -- but it is for the birds from the aspect of kinship. Blessings, Gershon
