Paradoxal Love

Sometimes I ask myself if it would've been better to have never loved at all For me it's the ins & outs of the fall that are really discouraging The idea of purging this emotion is freeing to the mind yet I'm bound to the memories I long to leave behind Am I wrong in my assessment that if love were truly blind it wouldn't seek out strong heart beats with heart shaped eyes? I think cupid may be the Devil in disguise masking its intentions That warm fuzzy feeling mixed with passion is only an extension of our base desires It's music to your ears until you realize whose strumming the lyre behind the scenes It inspires those green with envy to hate & enrages those who've been locked in its cage Engaged in its game with the intent to wed only sheds blood from a bleeding heart these days It's a maze from which many never return because they're stuck in a burning hell soon to be ashes in urns At least that's what my lower half says but lets go higher Love inspires many so to never have loved at all means you're in dire need Many things transpire during the course of our lives indeed & it's love that gets us through all the terrible times If I said I wish I never loved at all I'd be a terrible liar living a lie & singing a sad song A song with empty notes on a blank page on a stage fraught with fear Those tears you've cried truly were not in vain & of that pain you've felt don't feel not even an ounce of shame It's love that will have you walking in front of an oncoming train for its recipient with transparent irreticence It's relevance in this world can't be understated for even the jaded have seen what that flower looks like when it grows through the green I mean what is life without loving eyes? I'll tell you It's a life lived blind without ever truly being seen A nightmare of which you'll long to awaken from so dream with eyes open to receive some of its loving embrace
