Paper Wings

Paper Wings

Breathe for me
Rekindle my flame
Scribble my name
Break through the numbing silence
That haunts my guilt and shame
Uplift my spirit and
Strengthen my thin paper wings
Let them be resilient
With the strength of the lion
Let them be as graceful as those of the
Dove flying high above
May lightening not wipe all my power out
May you lead my warm, heavy feet to paradise
May I hear the bells ringing
With truth and redemption
