Paper Pain

I have always been afraid of an empty book's first page. The blank intimidation, no expression, silent glare. I thought fictitious phobias could disappear with age, But fears are caught between the lines and clarity is rare.

You are special, Annie Brittle. Your carefully selected title... the anxiety shown in your approaching a blank page with trepidation, PERFECT 4-line, 14-syllable composition, mixing small and larger words in total symmetry and your rhymes. This poem SINGS to me.
