Paper Love

I wonder sometimes now
if my words to you
have a life of their own
and if they will be my legacy.

Is this love on paper
to be the longest lasting,
	most important part
	of our relationship?

Is it the only place
	where our love
	will ever be known?

If that turns out to be true
then I will put all these words
out into the world
	for anyone to read
		as I'll not carry
my love for you to the grave,
it's been secret for too long.

Only time will tell
	how the truth
	will be made known
whether from you
	or from me
or from these paper love notes.

But my love for you
	and your love for me
cannot live only between us,
	it's too big and deep
to remain in our hearts alone.
