Paper Doll
Just moments ago I watched you speak to me,
the water of your words soothing my skin of blisters left 10 years ago.
As you spoke my flesh was peeled and out stepped flawless bones;
bleached white from scrubbing away his dirty hands, his filthy mouth.
Your voice wrapped around my jagged shoulders, soft and comforting;
reassuring - I am not a paper doll, left crumbled to be torn and stomped upon.
I am not broken,
these shards of glass are not my own.
