Pansies

humble pansies shine brightly 
showy against grey winter sky 
floppy faces nod cheerfully
holding heavy heads up high 
velvet petals gently flutter 
in a purple-white-blue whole 
a rainbow hued celebration 
thirst quenching for the soul
