Great haiku Gershon. Reading one on forest fire for first time. This one inspires me to try out different ones on problems faced by nature. Enjoy your day friend. Take care Rama

Those wildfires are scary because they can become deadly in just a few minutes if the wind gets in them. A few years back there was one close to my home that burned between 500 and 800 hundred acres in just a couple of hours. Your work reads like a good contender to me. Sara

Very kind of you, Richard. A long time ago words were 'cheaper by the dozen,' I've heard. ~ Dear Old Dad

Vividly shows the race to escape the flames - the movement and fear is so immediate - hope this does well in the contest!

Thank you for your praise, Michelle... As for this (and all) contests, I'd be satisfied with any kind of placement,... and even with an 'N/A' -- because I'm happy with the poem I wrote and for me, that's enough. Appreciate your support and tender wishes. Here's to the good news in your most recent poem. Oregon has to have something to cheer about these days! Best always, ~ Gershon
