Palpitare
Upon my guitar thou sketched a heart—
now strangely it hath learned to beat.
It waltzes, foxtrots, funks,
and reels in rock-and-roll.
Yet when I loose the blues for thee,
it bleeds—come, pray thee, have a butcher’s.
