Pain Has Gone
She looked in the mirror,
A girl unrecognized looked back.
Her youth, gone; Innocence, robbed.
Life flashed before her very eyes,
Endless sorrow as deep as the sea.
A smile tried to mask the grief,
And misfortune etched in her soul.
At one point she must've asked,
Why? Why her?
Her question unanswered,
Yet it no longer matter.
She refused to cry...
Never again.
She stared at her reflection,
One. Two. Three.
Glad it was almost over,
A sigh of relief escaped.
Soon the lights would dim,
Her reflection she no longer need to see.
Wrists adorned with the life she hated
As it poured out of her.
Darkness soon came,
Still there was no fear.
Her pain was gone,
What is there left to fear?
