Pain From Within the Mirror
Dear God,
I come to you today because I need to know ... Why don't I have a reflection in the mirror every time I look within it? And why can't I hear my own words when I write poetry?
And for most of my life ... I continued my journey blindly without an answer ... until recently, I finally received the answer to both questions ... but I had to dig deep with God's help, and now ... I introduce myself and my truths to you ...
Here is my story ...
-------------------------PAIN FROM WITHIN THE MIRROR---------------------------
For most of my life ... I would stare into the mirror and saw no
reflection...
Why?
Because I could see the junkyard of hidden pain,
Hidden hate, hidden tears ...
A history of ...
Hidden rejections that had festered for many of years.
So instead of dealing...
I decided to hide behind the words that gave so many ...
the gifts of God's love and healing.
Oh God!
I am so sorry for not seeing the beauty you created me to be ...
For I am your poet ...
Your daughter of spirit ...
A woman with a gift who handed her words to others ...
For inspiration, acceptances
Love and validation ...
So now ... As I sit here in tears ...
I can now heal.
For I know now
That I no longer have to hide behind the words that held me back
for so many years.
And as I write this poem ... I am beginning to hear ...
Because I am facing my testimony ...
I am seeing my beauty within the reflection of the mirror ...
Because I passed the test of time and pointed out my wrongs...
Now I am ready for my graduation and God's ceremony.
Hello All! My name is Tiffany ...
and now
my gift and reflection are restored through God's lesson and in
the order as it should be ...
For I can now give you the best of me ... because I can now hear
my poetry ...
God
thank you for my answers and for making things clearer ...
Now I can give the world the best of me...
Because
there is no more PAIN FROM WITHIN THE MIRROR.
