Pacify Me

I'm broken,
Damaged goods,
Wrought with anger and regret and fear.
Pacify my anxieties
About that which I cannot change or understand.
It isn't difficult to do...
Cradle me
As you did when I was a mere babe,
With plump knees and feathery hair.
Mirror the whispers of my infantile cooings
With your own voice.
Offer me warmth and milk, an olive branch,
A soft kiss and a song.
Pin me back together,
Tell me that we haven't fallen so far apart.
Tell me that not everything has been lost.
