When I cut off a tree limb
Does the tree flinch?
When I trim a flower back
Does she cry?
When I rake autumn leaves
Do they grieve?

I have heard that plants have souls, and when we walk toward them with a pruner, they flinch. I have actually seen my trees rejoice upon my return waving in crazy happiness, when there was no wind.
