Own
The life that we live we think we can choose.
Characteristics, free-will we think we can use.
It's all predetermined, no matter our choices.
For we always succumb to those inner voices.
Believe what you like, it's comfortably fine.
For me it's a good book, a sparkling water with lime.
I watch you come and then I watch you go.
I know more than you think, it's a magical show.
Everything is transient, both people and faces.
We imagine that the home is in familiar places.
The truth is that, that can all be gone in the blink of an eye.
Which is why I'm relaxed with myself, me and I.
Had my fill of rudeness, bullies, dictators.
Not interested, bored, see you later.
Believe that you know much more than can be known.
For me I'm happy, content, at peace on my own.
