Owie

Give me a band-aid 'cause I've got a cut.
Though you can not see it I haven't made it up.
I was running through the yard and slipped there in the dirt.
I know I am bleeding because it really hurts...
Owie!

Kiss it, make it better, it's right there on my knee.
It's really big and really deep although you can not see.
Can't you see these tears of mine are caused by all this pain.
It's not attention that I want, don't call me by my middle name...
Owie!
Owie!

I've got an owie and Mommy doesn't care.
She says she can not see it and it's not really there.
She tells me think of something else, the pain will go away.
I guess there's nothing else to do but go outside and play.
Owie!
Owie.
owie...

this was wonderful fun... Odd how I found my way back to the same poem. hehe... I think it is because I read a lot about kids, even big ones... Keep it up... Your word play is great. Ann

I love poems that make me feel as much like a kid as when I was one. Ty.
