Owed To Christmas Spirit

Christmas is a Spirit,
Tho’ you may forget it.
This time of year can be so happy,
If you only let it.

A time for friends & loved ones,
Fond feelings for the season,
Think well of all your fellow men,
Let Christmas be your reason

Just look around, it’s everywhere.
Listen. You can hear it.
What makes this time of year so happy
Is truly Christmas Spirit.

Don’t be aggravated by the traffic or
Trying to find a place to park or
Standing in the long lines....
Keep Christmas Spirit in your heart.

Don’t think of how you’ve spent
What took all year to save.
You would have spent it anyway.
Christmas Spirit means You Gave.

Oh, the Happiness of Christmas,
Remember your own glee?
Momma! Daddy! Look…
What Santa brought for me!

Yes, the Joy of every heart at Christmas
Should be giving, not receiving;
Celebrating your Savior’s Birth,
His Gifts to you and your Believing.

You should put this joyous, pretty, uplifting poem in the contest: "What Christmas Means to Me." I enjoyed the read very much ... CayCay

Thanks much for the kind words, but he will not allow any religious reference whatsoever. Strange, since Christmas is only a Christian holiday. All others simply enjoy the festive times and traditions created by the religious holidays. Oh, well.
