Overcoming Death In Power of Christ
Easter time for so many is real fun
well so many think that's so
the real true meaning has got lost
among the choc eggs on the show
To me, Easter reminds me of a man
who lived in Israel 2000 years ago
he was human but claimed to be God
having twin natures fully to grow
Despite the good that he displayed
the ordinary man's understanding of him
was zero because of his original sin
having minds that were somewhat dim
This man was Jesus the son of God
who mankind wanted to be dead
so on Calvary's cross was crucified
the one who was the living bread
But after three days in the grave
this Jesus arose in risen power
showing victory over death no less
this indeed was God's finest hour
The power of Christ overcame death
being the true Easter message to me
showing that one day I'll rise from death
in Christ's power face to face Jesus I'll see
(I am sometimes overwhelmed by all of the hype during the holiday seasons. For example, now we are approaching Easter with Easter bunnies, Easter chickens, Easter eggs, and crosses in various styles and colors. This is what Easter means to me. )
