Over Time

As I sit here & watch you,
I wonder how all this could be true.
It started out like a dream,
Then after a few months I wanted to scream.
Drifting further, you pushing away,
I wondered if it was worth it to stay.
We chose together to call it ends,
All the while I'm hoping that time mends.
Time apart really tore at my heart,
Not seeing or hearing you just broke me apart.
Thinking about you constantly everyday,
I'd always ask if I saw you what would I say.
Then months later that time came,
And on my phone I saw your name.
An avalanche of emotions came running through,
The thought of me really getting to see you!
There was a question I kept on my mind,
I just had to know, so you gave me your time.
The touch of your skin on mine,
Sent chills through my spine.
Your touch had my mind racing,
Asking myself, "Is this time I'm wasting?"
There was a look in your eyes that night,
It felt as though you said we will be alright.
I missed you beyond what I thought,
Time had a lesson and it was taught.
Being away from you didn't make me better,
It's as though I became slightly bitter.
You showed me a love I've never felt,
A love I thought was gone and wilt.
Time has made that love grow stronger,
If this is a dream I'd like it to be longer!
My love for you has no words,
So I guess for now my actions will be heard.
Our honesty and truth is now pure,
I have nothing to hide from you, I'm sure!
Nobody's perfect in this world baby,
God put us together for a reason, just maybe.
No maybe, I'm pretty sure of it,
Now let's grow old and make the best of it!
I couldn't ask for anything more or less,
I love what we have, although you say it's a mess.
Have just a little faith and see,
We really don't know what will be.
There's only one thing I want to do,
Spend my life loving YOU!!!
