Outside the Window
Outside the window,
I looked out of the window
and saw a man hitting a woman on the street.
It reminded me about a forgotten scene
of a man who slapped his pregnant wife
and died after some days in the hospital due
to pregnancy complications.
He claimed to do it unwillingly
the court sentenced him for some years in prison.
the new scene touched my heart as the innocent
half naked woman apologised publicly
and the man continued hitting her.
How painful can be when some people
continue ill - treating people who love them?
When you hear a woman says loudly ," life is not fair"
you can think otherwise while she expressed her challenges in complicated relationship.
some women cry daily
when they find little change in their relationships.
to manage some short tempered women,
it is so challenged but disrespecting them
on the streets, it is not fair.
My grandmother always told me about her past with my late grand father Alfonso who could not hit her
till he died before I was born.
She almost hundred years old now
and continue living well.
There is no day I saw my father hitting my mother
and she could not share with us about being a victim
of such abuse when we were young.
It means they continue living true love
and reciprocal respect in their marriage.
