Outside In

Many say that to change...
you start from the inside then work your way out.
In all of my changes, I have found out...
you start on the outside and work your way in...
this is where changes start to begin.
You don't peel an apple from seed to the peel...
It just isn't done...the thought is not real.
You start from the peel...one step at a time.
You do it your way...and I'll do it mine.
Those years you were growing...the walls you put up...
you've built so many walls, your mind may erupt!
Look at the most recent...and work your way back...
It won't take too long till you have the knack
for bringing them down one stone at a time...
and to want to be better is never a crime.

Pam............I LOVE THIS. You are right you do have to start from the "outside" and what is funny is that I never thought of it that way until now! I always hear people say just the opposite! Thank you. I will take this poem to heart.

Yes. We are told just the opposite. It doesn't even make sense.

Very interesting insight into the question of change. Personal change is difficult to say the least, but your words make me think of all the times I thought I could change things from the inside first to create a better me. Thanks for this insight...or outsight for me.
