Out of the Box

just children in a sandbox. the kind of children that jump on the merry-go-round, and while spinning, stretch out their hands to grab someone- a subconscious need (if not just tendency) to seek community in experience. children like these, stuffed together in this sandbox. and we all got sticks, drawin' lines in the sand. and we all got tricks in sleeves to meet our demands. children like these, stuffed together in this sandbox. screamin' about who's dad is better. my eyes drifted, for an instant, from the sand mound to be enlightened to the vastness of this playground. and, as if i were awaking for the first time, i stood up, left the sand, left the sticks, left the lines, and i decided to do something more my own size. as i become a man, i need to put away childish things. for today, i see in a mirror dimly, but then- face to face; today, i know in part, but then- i will know fully, just as i've been fully known.

I believe that childish things remind us that it is ok to be silly in an all too serious world. Someone once said ( cant remember who) that you dont know what you know until you know what you don't know.... The person who thinks they know it all has stopped learning. I like this it is unusual and thoughtful x

I completely agree! 'those who come as children will inherit the kingdom'. not those who have shirked responsibilities or divulged in immaturities, but those that love simply and laugh often, smell the roses and see the beauty in the blades of grass, trust for trust's sake, not for tangibility, and love first and judge accordingly. silliness is a valuable gift, but there's a silliness that is unacceptable, and you hit it right on the head- the silliness of believing you KNOW anything at all. we are all just children, learning the ropes.but we can't learn the ropes if we stay in one place. this is something new i'm learning. thank you so much for reading! i'm blessed to know you like it. :) and thank you for your thoughts! I would love to hear more.
