Out of the Ashes

Like a phoenix out of the ashes,
hope stirs in the remnants of
    my bruised and burned heart,
Rising from the ruins,
  to face a new day,
    a new promise,
Growing stronger by the day,
until it is ready to take flight,
To take on the world.
