Out of Melancholia

Drooping pen said “enough of melancholia” Spread words of cheer, like sweet smelling magnolia Vowed never again to write of misery So fished for words in diction’s fishery Who would become the inspiring muse Some clever thought or inspiring ruse Up came blondie Donald duck America’s ex-president, my potluck A failed businessman turned slick politician Pulled wool over the eyes like a crafty magician A moving hyperbole of lies and untruths Never to be forgotten in America's history books

Ha Ha yes indeed. Funny thing but my poetry tends towards the melancholy too. I can totally relate to your words and the difficulty of trying to be a bit more cheerful in today’s world ! Well said, my friend.
