Out of Many Words

To find a few out of many,
I mean good words,
none really cost a penny.
To organize them left to right
and inscribe a message
that shares light.
That gift belongs to few I know,
though it is free as sunlight
or stars that glow.
Words finely penned and gathered
strike chords on heartstrings and
resound in the marrow's deep cell.
When the poet does his part,
words heighten and expands our reality,
becoming so much more than merely art.
