Our Weeping Willow Mourns

By the blue lake one sunny day a willow watched us laugh and play. Cool water surrounded our young love and the willow watched us from above. We embraced with such passion strong as the willow sang a love song. But you suddenly disappeared one rainy day and I began to kneel and pray. I wept and wept and felt so forlorn and our beautiful weeping willow mourned. By: Carole O'Terry Duet Copyright: Jan. 20, 2018 "All Rights Reserved" 1st place in contest

This reminds me of a Weeping Willow poem I must write. I like it immensely, and it brought out a think I had buried down deep, so thank you!

Hi Andrea. I read yours too and I can see your point of view as the willow and I picture the sad lover back under that lovely willow alone with her broken heart...but with her friend, the willow, both weeping together. Carole
