Our Tears Have Run Dry

Oh, my Lord,
Be patient with all of us poets
Who, incessantly, on love we write
And
Rivers of burning tears unleash
Every day
For
To express the unbearable pain we feel
Because
Someone has shattered our hearts by
Turning us down

But

Who unmoved, like stones remain
At the sight of thousands of men, women and children
That
Victims have fallen to the terrorists’ bullets and
Knives around the world

Excuse us, oh Lord, for our indifference, but our
Tears have run dry

So

Unable are we to mourn those who for Your Love
Have fallen!

* Dedicated to the memory of all children, women and men
who have, either, been raped, enslaved, sold, executed or decapitated
for not succumbing to terror, being they Christians or of another faith! Our indifference doesn’t help anyone but those who commit such crimes!

A powerful write, my dear poet. However, bear in mind that at times, brutality is committed by people who don't carry knives or guns. It's committed by people who brutalize and rape with words, neglect, and indifference. That pain is also real. Those who have suffered from it may not have physical wounds, but they may be walking dead....heartless and soulless. Please, do not forget these ones. There is truth in what you say. I applaud your love for these fallen ones. God sees. He knows.

It already has. There is nothing to be done about that. That's why it sometimes is best not to think about it and live in constant fear. Thank you for your comment. I hope the powers that be can hear.

Thank you for visiting and commenting dear, Eileen. Yes, I keep in mind what you say for I have written in the past on many occasions. Although there is truth in what you say, here I refer to something larger that endangers the whole world and our way of life! I am afraid, if nothing is done soon Lebanon would feel the wrath of these people. I pray not to happen! God bless you!

What an excellent way to shed light on some horrific events that are happening way to often... We need to rise up against all these atrocities.

This kind of things do not happen too often! When they execute thirteen teenagers for watching football on tv, no, it doesn't happen too often, my good friend Tim! Thank you for your visit and comment! I appreciate your concern!

Unfortunately, Dr Ram, this thing is going to grow more and will be a menace to many countries. Fanaticism is not a good thing! Thank you for visiting!

Thank you my brother for praying with me. I am afraid though that this terrorism will take more than prayers to be eradicated!

Hello Demetrios! It make me so sad to read all this stuff going on all over the place in the world. Too many people of all ages and gender suffering the atrocities of war and terrorism everywhere. My heart and soul cries and bleeds every time I see and hear all these terrible events taking place. God have mercy on them all the victims and all of us around the globe. Very nice dedication my dearest friend Demetrios. Powerful pen! A 7 from me! Have a very lovely day! :) Love and hugs! xxxx D. ^O^
