Our Son Is Gone

i had bought her two hand made crystal glasses
one was red and one was blue
the day our son left home
his old thermos fell
from the top shelf
and broke the red glass
we still have the blue glass
and
each other

This is powerful in the simplicity of the words. Such deep emotion in such sublety. Well done...sad, but wonderfully written. ~ Carrie

it is a lonely-yet liberating feeling-now i am on my own in the world of art with no one and nothing to blame for losing time or focus....

Thank you Anthony, when I left home at 15, it was for good-I miss my parents now, all these years later- perhaps I was projecting a little too much. yes he moved out.

When you say gone I hope he only moved out. This is the drift I get from this poem. My last child recently moved out and the nest is now empty. Even when they live close they are still missed. Nice job A. W. Nutter www.freewbs.com/abcedit
