Our Silver Years

Our Silver Years When, we two embrace our silver years, Silver skies of autumn arrive mystifying form. The forests’ green has a silvery hue. Silence overshadows chirping birds and croaking frogs. Even the roosters snuggle in oversleeping. The dogs are romping; cats find warmth. Children and grandchildren have gone their way, When, we two embrace our silver years. You have written an awesome poem here Dane Ann! Just a friendly note there is an error however within your write... The fifth line has 8 words instead of seven. Try saying, "And baby goats huddle in the hay" instead. That works with seven words! I hope you don't mind me correcting you, I just want you to do well in the contest! I really enjoyed reading this wonderful piece here this evening! great Work!!

It's funny, I had originally written it with 7 words... then, I went back and added a word...yikes. Thanks for second catching my miscount. That's what I get for trying to write with children playing all around.
