Our Nights So Blessed

The shortened hours of joyful times
When your hands reach, as shadows fall
That comfort me in many ways;
Before the notes of dawn enthrall.
Before stars’ luster fade, then pale
When ardor is a faithful song
And hums on with pure gleam, aflame-
To lift me through where I belong.
Chorus:
Somehow the hint of warmth restores
Our nights so blessed, so blessed in grace
Quieting every tear I hold
Holding my thoughts with your embrace.
Until one last surrendering
On through this moment’s tenderness;
I raise my eyes and start to sing
When love brings true dreams, just for us.
