our neighbors versus us

our neighbors entertain
we don’t
they like company
we do not

they drop in on people
we would never do that
they have their ways
we have ours

they decorate six Christmas trees
we put ours away, it is pre lit and pre ornamented
they vote Republican, we do not discuss who we vote for
or if we vote at all

neither one of us are right or wrong
just different,
with diverse ways
and habits all our own
