Our Mystical Mind-Reading Dog

Sophie Helen outguesses us at every turn.
When my husband begins to lift out of his chair
She knows where he is going.

If it is the kitchen she heads for her little couch.
It if is toward me she leaps like a deranged missile between us
How she knows when to back into the little couch or to leap is anyone’s guess

Her instincts are amplified the second anyone moves
She can be sound asleep but if we move an inch, she is there.
Dead asleep, without even an eye open.

Last night I almost backed into her again.
She was on the bed already, waiting.
How did she now I was not just using the bathroom?

Bed and bath are both located in the same direction.
Sophie Helen is a mystical, magical mind-reading beast.
We are watching our p’s and q’s around this dog.

Wish I had a dog....no,,not really. Prefer the quiet of a cat Panagiota. She keeps you hopping

I think they are both rather nice, my friend.

They all are; Sophie Helen just doesn't care to hide her powers; she's doing her duty.

She is terrified right now. One of my paintings tore out of the velcro that had been holding it in the frame making a long elaborate ripping sound. She has no idea what made that sound but jumped off the bed and ran out of the room, terrified. I guess it sounded like a rattlesnake?
