Our love shouldn't be a mountain
That we have to climb every day
Our love shouldn't be a battlefield
Where egos have their way
Our love shouldn't be an ocean
That we have to swim across
Our love shouldn't be a game
Where we compete for wins and losses
I have given everything
Everything and more, my dear
I have been here for you each day
Cheering you on; calming fears
I will always love you, darling
With everything that I am
No matter what the future holds
You'll always be in my plans
Our love shouldn't be a mountain
That we have to climb every day
Our love shouldn't be a battlefield
Where egos have their way
Our love shouldn't be an ocean
That we have to swim across
Our love shouldn't be a game
Where we compete for wins and losses
But I know my hopes and dreams
May not be the same as yours
Maybe you're thinking about a change
Exploring distant shores
Something inside me knows
Something's got to give
Love can't conquer every demon
It's not the way to love or live
