Jack Ellison Poet Quatrain

Our Love

I'm madly in love with my beautiful wife
And I'm not afraid to admit it
You'd think after twelve years of marriage
It would cool off just a wee bit

But our love affair is as strong as ever
In fact it's stronger, I would say
We confess our deepest thoughts of love
To each other every new day

Sometimes, two people are just destined to be
Together with each other forever
No one has been able to explain the reason
It's a mutual admiration endeavour

If I knew of some kind of special formula
I wouldn't keep it a deep, dark secret
I'd surely share it with the rest of the world
But I don't have the answer, so be it

I'm madly in love with my beautiful wife
And I'm not ashamed to admit it!

The secret is different for each one, however, respect, trust, admiration and sacrifice of egoism in the altar of love are some of the ingredients required! Great writing. Have enjoyed it. Carol Eastman September 18, 2014 at 11:13 AM You go Jack! I'd write Hubby a romantic poem but he'd fall over in a faint. Dragon would then want his, his penguins would line up for theirs, and Grandpa Troll would have to supervise as the line got out of control! I love those guys. But the pressure to please would be fierce and would have me running the other way as the other Trolls would become jealous. You DO NOT want jealous Trolls! At this Hubby said not to worry. It's always implied and said that's the best part. He's so sweet! Sigh!
