Our Love

Sitting on the floor with
photographs scattered all around.
Tears and memories are left behind.
Ruminate about the events that took place.
Can’t figure out where things went astray.
When did we start to pull away?
What changed in our hearts that caused our love to fade?
Looking in your eyes I see an uncertainty and brokenness that holds you captive
You are not the same man I fell in love with
Instead it is like we are strangers again.
Only this time my heart has been shattered.
Scream and holler for someone to hear my cries.
Wishing someone would understand
Just how bad it feels to be broken.

Very good way to write about a broken love. Is it for the brokenness contest. It should do really well in such a contest!
