Our Last Race

Tomorrow I will wake up and everything will change
Life as I know it will never be the same
Everything has led up to this point
Yet everything doesn’t matter
Tomorrow is a new day
A new life

I have walked alone
I have walked with friends
And some of those
Will never see the light of day again

But we continue on
Thinking we know right from wrong
Until our foundations are shaken
And our souls are taken

What do we believe in?
What do we hold dear?
What are we content with?
What are our ultimate fears?

What are we willing to fight for?
When the fear is in our face
What will we protect?
For this our last race
