Our Kids

We're teaching our kids lessons, that they would learn anyways Why not teach them knowledge, that they may never find out The aspects of life that we examined, stumbled upon in the moment A lit firefly in the aphotic night, that may never come across again To teach them how to think, instead of what to memorize A robotic soul caught in the headlights, programed to see what the world wants Philosophies that goes beyond childhood, that matures us into adults An old book of a heart's fantasy, Growing wiser with time That they can control who they are, and not loose all they have gained A train derailed on the tracks, steaming and puffing down to oblivion
