Our Hearts

I sit in the empty fields alone. A time of reflection and grace. All this time I should’ve known, I should’ve never left this place. The wind howls around me, Blowing free, putting a mind at ease. A road to enlightenment and clarity, An angel hearing my pleas. Memories come calling from a place lost, Memories fill the void defeating the pain. I will find peace at any cost, The demons in me, I have slain. A moment of self doubt, Erased by soothing words of love. I hear the reasoning and reassuring clout, Something I’ve long dreamt of. With a head held high, and a heart flying free, I will not die, for now I can truly see. The mistakes I’ve made, No longer define my future. Bitterness and hate fade, As I search for a road so pure. You’ve showed me the way, Now it is my journey that starts. For I know one day, We will again hold each other’s hearts.
