Thanks Christopher, you have picked up on a very important angle of my equation very nicely, some people count success as wealth alone, but they cannot overcome or avert an extinction level event, that kind of success can only be achieved as a species, if indeed it can achieved at all, cheers David

We're now stressing how dangerous the world's situation is. A real crisis is also taking place. This is a global crisis that must address immediately. In the face of global destruction, how can society define unambiguous success? Honestly not sure what could be a good answer.

Hello Lasaad, what science describes as an absolute success story, are the creatures that have withstood an extinction level event in the past, my point here is ironic, how can we ever qualify to be a success story, if we're the ones actually causing the extinction event ourselves, even if we do somehow manage to survive it, cheers David
