Our First Date
I recall my youth felt like forever,
I didn't try to understand grown-up things.
And spent all my time: playing childish games,
dreaming of magical dragons with wings.
But in the blink of an eye, my life changed,
with merely a glancing touch of her hand.
I felt feelings I'd never felt before:
and they felt spontaneous; nothing planned.
It was almost like a veil was lifted
from my eyes: suddenly, things became clear.
And I noticed the twinkle in her eyes,
followed by a sweet smile that drew me near.
And while asking her out on our first date,
I boldly stole a kiss: I just couldn't wait!
