Our dilemma

We push and pull to no avail,
for fears continue to assail;
our heart contracts, we feel not full,
to no avail, we push and pull.

We simply state the simple facts,
we feel not full, our heart contracts,
it does so seem dark is our fate,
the simple facts, we simply state.

Time to atone, time to redeem,
dark is our fate, it does so seem,
in a deep hole, we sink alone;
time to redeem, time to atone.

God’s light sublime, our ego stole,
we sink alone, in a deep hole,
though in despair, we feel love’s chime;
our ego stole God’s light sublime.
