Our Day

On the beach
On the sand
In my mind
Hand and hand.
Taking turns
Flipping pages
Reading poems
Through the ages.

Stop and pause
Smile and wink
Can I swim?
Will I sink?
Come on get in!
Let's get wet!
I'll hold you tight
Until sunset.

Then pack it up
Or lay awhile
Kiss my hand
Time to dial
Up for food
When we get back
So we can eat
Then take a nap.

And for a few
Or maybe more
Hours I might
Hear you snore
I'll trace your lips
With my thumb
Fall asleep
Our day is done.

A wonderful write! It seemed to flow very well and the rhyme was very good. I enjoyed the read. Caryl
