Our Country
Our Country
I do cry for our country.
What has happened to us now?
The hate whirls like a hurricane
with division like canyons in the West.
Must we continue on like this?
We are Americans, humans, on this land
with lives, feelings, goals and dreams.
We must not self destruct from within.
Time to start reaching out, giving
anything we can.
Now, today and tomorrow and beyond.
Plead not for a fix, but we must act.
So we don't look back and wish
that we could have done this or that.
Let's take a moment without difference.
Just a moment to do for another.
We are equal. We are strong.
We are the fabric that connects us in our home.
We are the people.
