Our Coat
Was it all my fault?
Did i let you down or did i not?
Did i put our love off, did i let it rot?
Did i dissipate the feelings we once sought?
Were we always so hopeless or was it just me?
We were like ice and snow, alike to a degree.
We were both cold, frozen so much
But your heart was cold, mine froze to touch
But you're just a memory
A faded ghost town
Just a memory
Yet i still need you around
Your words kept me warm
Your touch kept me alive
Without either...
I feel so.. so alone
Left to my feelings
Left to atone
For my wrongs
for my faults
for the dumb things i did
I kept a coat just for your ghost
Because it was your words i yearned for most
Just another "Hi" or greeting or farewell
Anything out your mouth before we fell
But now I'm gone just another spirit
I'm both dead and alive yet i still feel it...
The lingering heat yet frozen cold
The things we promised until we grew old.
Was our love just a white lie?
