Our Best Summer

We had no cares
we had no cars
just ourselves, the night
and a fistful of stars

There were no problems
just four friends and a park
the initials carved there
to leave a small mark

Best times of my life
God if only I knew
they were gone in a whisper
as the wind blew

That's when it ended
as I sit in our park alone
three empty swings
in some park I had known
